Research set to start

We are receiving the animals this week and are set to start the study in the coming weeks! This is a very exciting time in leopard geckos reseacrh, since there are not very many studies on our coldblooded friends. We hope to produce some valuable information from this study. We are very excited to be putting together this great project! We have a custom made rack coming from animal plastics by the end of the month and then we start receiving animals from our donors. We are trucking along and getting ready for a busy season here.

Items Greatly Needed for Donation

We are currently looking for a few items that would help us with the study if anyone would like to donate specific items. They are:

Latex Gloves(Size Large)

Chlorahexadine Solution(Nolvasan) any size container

Paper towels

Trash Bags, any size

Water bowls/hides that can be disinfected

Rack systems that hold 15 qt or 6 qt containers, used is perfectly fine

2oz Dixie cups for water

Mealworms/crickets, please contact us before sending

A study is being hosted at The Lehigh Valley Zoo on the effects of a new antiprotozoal drug on Cryptosporidium in Leopard Geckos. There is still hope in treating the awful parasite that has devastated our community for decades.

We ask if you would like to help us in this venture to please donate any item/animals you would wish to contribute to our auction to benefit this cause. We appreciate any help you can provide, since the cost of running an independent research project is high.

Also if you do not wish to participate in the auction but would still like to help, we are looking for any wild type leopard geckos to use in the study. These geckos can be heterozygous for any trait but must be non albino and normal patterns. Any amount of animals you can provide would be extremely helpful. I want to stress that none of the results found in specific geckos or who bred them will be published or made public in any way. No animals used in the study will be marked from specific sources, but rather randomly mixed up in the groups.

If you do not wish to participate in the study or auction in the form of donating animals the study will also appreciate any form of monetary donations. Any help is greatly appreciated in this venture to help rid our community of crypto. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have in regard to this project.
